At Datu, we seek out homes for our retreats that do more than host; they hold. Places that carry a rhythm of their own and invite a different way of being. After five meaningful seasons in Tuscany we look forward to our next residences and an expanded programme with new retreat formats in equally stunning settings, building upon what came before with greater ease, comfort and refinement. This evolution is part of the Datu philosophy. Like the travelling healers of the past, our retreats are intentionally nomadic, shaped by location, beauty and energy.

In 2026, we moved further south along the Italian coast to our new home in Santa Maria di Castellabate, bringing with us the same care, the same rhythm and the same trusted team behind our signature Ayurveda-based wellbeing retreat.

We are also excited to introduce our new “Dimora di Datu” residencies in Italy and India, offering the opportunity to explore alternative themes and locations and experience the depth and multifaceted applications of Eastern practices and philosophy.

Our current programme is always listed on this page.

A Return to the Source

Dimora di Datu presents Return to the Source, a forthcoming residency in Goa, India. Set in close proximity to the origins of the practices that shape our work, the programme draws on the landscapes, climate and cultural rhythms that have sustained this knowledge over time. By locating the retreat at its source, Datu offers guests the opportunity to develop an embodied understanding of Ayurveda as a living system while engaging more deeply with its principles and practices.

A Withdrawal into the Art of Introspection

Dimora di Datu presents a new programme dedicated to introspection and meditative attention situated within a landscape long associated with contemplative life. Set within more than three thousand hectares of protected natural reserve, Eremito Hotelito del Alma occupies a terrain shaped by centuries of spiritual inquiry.

Our Commitment To You

Please bear in mind that we carefully plan and coordinate our practitioners’ schedules, as they fly from Asia with the sole purpose of looking after you at the retreats. For this reason, we require a 50% non-refundable deposit in order to confirm your stay. The remaining balance is due 30 days prior to the retreat opening.

Of course, we understand that plans can sometimes change. While deposits cannot be refunded, we will do our best to accommodate date modifications within the same retreat season under reasonable circumstances subject to availability. That said, we encourage you to take out travel insurance for added security.

As part of our commitment to making the benefits of Yoga and Ayurveda as accessible as possible, part of our revenue enables the healing work of our Vaidyas free of charge to communities in India. Please contact us to find out more about our financial aid program, if you wish to apply for or to contribute to it.

Please read our Terms & Conditions* carefully. Do not hesitate to get in touch with any questions, as your satisfaction is our top priority. We are here to assist you any way we can.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do Datu retreats take place now?

Datu is a nomadic retreat concept: we maintain a permanent residence for our Return to Balance programme and seek out special places that hold the work well for our Dimora di Datu programmes. Then we move on when the time is right. After five seasons in Tuscany, since 2026 our Ayurveda retreats take place at our 17th-century beachfront palazzo overlooking the Amalfi Coast in southern Italy, south of Salerno. Our Dimora di Datu residencies add further settings each year — in 2026, The Postcard Hotel in southern Goa, India, and Eremito, a monastic retreat in Umbria. The current programme and its locations are always listed on our Retreats page.
