What is Datu?
A wellbeing retreat welcoming the depths of Eastern Wisdom into dialogue with the rhythms of the West for deep transformation
For a limited period each year, we bring together masters of Ayurveda, Yoga and ancient healing traditions from some of the most renowned and award-winning Eastern institutions, ashrams and clinics. This gathering takes place in the comfort and natural beauty of our carefully chosen European locations offering a rare opportunity to access these timeless practices closer to home.
Our collective, named Datu—Sanskrit for ‘share’—reflects a sincere commitment to generosity in knowledge and care. Many seeking healing may not be able to travel to India, yet desire the same depth of expertise to support their physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing. During our retreats, this expertise is brought directly to you.
The practitioners who join us carry decades of experience rooted in both traditional lineages and rigorous training at respected institutions. Their work is not about quick fixes but sustained, attentive presence—offering insight and skill with generosity and integrity.
How Datu is different from other retreats?
We are guided by a deep respect for the authenticity and integrity of time-honoured practices such as Yoga, Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda. Rooted in the foundational principles of care and presence, our work pays respect to the wisdom of these traditions and the people who carry them forward.
In a tranquil setting at the heart of Europe, our retreats offer a space for meaningful rest and renewal—supported by highly skilled practitioners who are deeply committed to their craft. We welcome you to join us in this setting of quiet restoration, where ancient knowledge meets thoughtful, grounded care. This is not a destination, but a return—to balance, to presence and to the essence of wellbeing.
What can I expect at Datu?
Your retreat begins with a personal Ayurvedic consultation, guided by an experienced Vaidya. This sets the foundation and rhythm for your stay—each day thoughtfully shaped to support your physical vitality, mental clarity and emotional balance.
Throughout your time with us, you’ll have access to a range of integrated therapies and group classes. Complementary therapies, massages, Ayurvedic treatments, Yoga asana and TCM support energy flow and ease in the body. Meditation, Pranayama, intuitive movement and therapeutic arts offer gentle ways to reconnect with presence.
Meals are crafted by chefs who bring together Ayurvedic principles with the flavours and ingredients of the region. These nourishing dishes are both balanced and deeply satisfying. At times, a Michelin Star Chef joins us in residence, offering a culinary experience that speaks to both pleasure and wellbeing—helping you feel lighter, clearer and nurtured in every sense.

Where do Datu retreats take place?
Our retreats are held in carefully chosen venues across Italy—places that reflect the spirit of the work we do. Each space has been selected not for luxury, but for its quiet integrity, its ability to hold depth and stillness with ease.
Set within natural landscapes, these environments offer a gentle rhythm—slower, more spacious. Here, comfort is simple and sincere. Thoughtful hospitality, nourishing local food, and the presence of undisturbed spaces create the conditions for a deeper kind of attention.
This is not merely a change of scenery. It is a shift in tempo, a softening of the edges of daily life. Within this atmosphere, it becomes easier to turn inward, to listen and reconnect with what often goes unnoticed.
Our Leading Practitioners
We convene leading practitioners of Ayurveda, TCM, Yoga and other healing modalities from the most renowned, award-winning institutions, ashrams and clinics within the convenience, comfort and proximity of beautiful Italy.
